HEATH -- My guess -- very low volume application + the set passes thru too many hands to reach you. Just wondering -- what do you think would be fair $? The wire itself is a high quality "wound-wire"-type construction. Does your Mondial have special wire end mouldings that would be hard to reproduce/reuse? |

Try Magnecore. They make all different kinds of high performance wires. They also sell bulk wire cheap. Their front page is a V-8 Ferrari engine! I made myself a set for @ 50 bucks. LUCH |

I bought a bulk of Cavis wire (10 meters) from the dealer. They charged me $8.50/meter (I don't have the part# with me but can dig it out if interested). The problem I am having is finding the same crimp (dual at 135 degrees for the TR) terminals. The dealer doesn't sell it, and the auto parts shops, web places, that I have contacted, only sell the single crimp terminals. I bought a few of those from CarQuest but I will try to reuse the original ones if still good. There are two parts required at the terminal end (spark plug end), the crimp terminal itself, and a plug that connects the conductor in the wire to the terminal. That plug is a pain in the neck to push through the wire. I bought a crimping tool (a vise attachment) from MSD for about $5.40 to do the crimping correctly. |

Paul, George Evans buys bulk wire from Magneti Marelli and builds wire sets. May be he will sell just the wire so you can make your own. 614-471-7535 or http://www.evansauto.com/ Joe |

You can buy the "correct" Cavis wire from Madenterprise for the later cars or any solid core wire for the earlier cars, then rebuild the wires as you have. They also have a source the red (or white) silicone sleeving. Given sufficient motivation, they might start a rebuilding service for poor, downtrodden spark plug wires. |

Looking for the correct ignition wire perhaps in a role to make my own wires with the correct look - red solid core. I dont feel like paying $625.00 cdn for the rear bank of plug wires from the dealer for my 308. I made a set for the time being in black for $30.00 using the factory gromets at the valve covers but want the right look. Any leads, no pun intended. |
