FIRST IT WAS THE 4th FUSE FUEL PUMP. WHILE TRYING TO PUT ON A NEW FUSE BOX HEARD CRINKELING NOISE FROM CRCUIT BOARD. NOW I HAVE NO HIGH BEAM LEFT SIDE, NO AC/HEATER FAN. AND THE LEFT SIDE DRIVERS WINDOW WILL NOT GO DOWN. S--- SO NOW I HAVE ORDERED A NEW (USED) UNIT FROM RUTLANDS THE RICE OF HIGHER EDUCATION CAN KILL YOU!!!
WHEN I LOOKED AT THE CIRCUIT BOARD THEIR WAS HEAT AFFECTED WARPAGE AROUND THE CONNECTORS FOR FUSES#4,5,6, I THINK PUSHING ON THE NEW BOX I HAD ORDERED SEPERATED THE CIRCUIT BOARD FROM THE CONTACT POINT WHERE THE AFFECTED FUSES ARE LOACATED. BETTER CORRECT A PROBLEM NOW IN MY BASEMENT THAN HAVE A TOW BILL FROM WHO KNOWS WHERE. I LIKE TO CALL MY MONDIAL A DAILY DRIVER WHEN IT IS NOT RAINING. AND FERRARI'S DESERVE TO BE WHAT I CALL A PROPER CAR. IF YOU DON'T LOVE'EM DRIVE A CHEV!

THE main problem is that the fuse box is overloaded, then corrosion develops around the solder point in the circuit board, there is an easy way to repair these without haveing to replace them , I had to do the same to mine, I bought a used one , took that one apart and figured out how to repair it,fuel pump circuit , then the A/C ,then the cooling fan, then the signal lights,....talk about problems..... if you want I can repair you fuse box free of charge, just pay the return shipping,this will save you all kinds of money,or I will buy your burned out unit,email me if you want.......hope that helps......Angelo |

Heath - I have an '84 Mondial Cab w/ 38K miles also. I also had problems with the 4th fuse (fuel pump), but mine was at the wire harness where the harness plugs into the fuse box. The harness actually melted around the contacts for the 4th fuse. It wasn't too bad, so I was actually able to fix it at no cost. I need to replace the harness, any ideas where I can get a new harness? I'ld be interested in following your efforts to replace your fuse box - keep us advised! I THINK YOUR FUSE BOX ON A 308 AND THE MONDIAL ARE MUCH THE SAME MY PART NUMBER 116262 MY COST FROM MARANELLO AUTO PARTS (RUTLANDS) 800-233-7820
WAS $41.00 NOT MUCH THAN THE BOX FOR MY MGB. MY BOX USES THE BULLET TYPE FUSES. THE UPGRADE IS TO A THE LATER MODEL ELECTRICAL BOARD WITH THE CLIP TYPE FUSES. THE WHOLE BOARD IS $800.00 AND CHANGE. BEING A POOR BOY FROM THE HILLS OF GEORGIA I CHOSE TO REPLACE THE BOX WITH ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. AS I UNDERSTAND IT THE MELTING OF THE PLASTIC ON A FERRARI FUSE BOX IS SOME WHAT COMMON. I NEVER BLEW A FUSE, BUT THE PLASTIC MELTED AND ACTED AS AN INSULATOR THIS HAPPENED TWICE ONCE IN THE MOUNTAINS AND THEN THE OTHER DAY AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. OFCORSE THAT MEANS YOU HAVE TO DROP THE FUSE WHILE YOUR MESSING AROUND WITH IT AND WATCH IT GO UNDER THE SPARE TIRE. OH WELL LIFES LITTLE PROBLEMS.

How much did it cost you (if I can ask)? My '85 308GTSqv's fuse box is giving me a little attitude. I have heard that they are quite expensive so I will probably just work mine out. |

A COUPLE OF WEEKS SOME ONE WAS TALKING ABOUT CHANGING THE FUSE BOX IN HIS FERRARI WELL NOW ITS MY TURN 84 MONDIAL CAB FUSE BOX MELTING AT 4TH FUSE FUEL PUMP. HAVE ORDERED AND RECIVED NEW BOX FROM RUTLANDS. ARE THEIR ANY LOOK OUT FOR'S INVOLVED. IMPUT WOULD GREATLY APPERICATED.
