I use Metwrench tools so they go either way. Only other need is metric allen wrenches. |

Horsefly, most of the nuts & bolts on a Ferrari are either 13mm, 10mm, or 8mm. If an american sae wrench fits tight, use it, but almost all of the N&B are metric. |

99.8% metric. 0.2% english. The adjustment nuts on the radiator fan motors are english (7/16 I think, but 11 mm works). The fittings on some of the AC stuff I've worked on is english. My 2nd car (when I was 16) was a 75 Ford Mustang II Ghia. It was about 40% metric and 60% english. What a POS that car was. I had to work on it all the time, and was constantly busting my knuckles from using the wrong wrench. ARRGH! Even thinking about it... |

Horsefly, my 79 308 is all metric. Every nut and bolt I've touched requires metric tools including the allen key drain plugs. |

I have a 2002 TransAm,which is an all American car, and most of the nuts and bolts are metric. I keep two sets ASE and Metric in my tool chest. The allen wrenches are the biggest pain in ass and also unforgiving. You can't swap their use. Although metric 11 and 12 are close to 1/2inch and others are close as well, you ruin a lot of bolts and crack some knuckles using the wrong tools. |

I predominantly use metrics on my F-car, but mine is a Euro model though. |

I believe the tie rod ends attachment nuts (thru the spindles) are American (SAE fine thread), as well.... |

You will find both depending on the car. A 308 has an american air conditioner and smog pump etc. |

Not having actually turned any wrenches on Ferraris, am I correct in assuming that because they are European, that all the nuts, bolts, and hardware are metric? My old Pontiac and Corvette even have a few metric nuts and bolts, so conversely, I was wondering if the Ferrari uses any standard American hardware? |
