Recall that Ben Millermon took the initiative to make up his own custom distributor to replace the unadjustable digiplex in his GTSi... I persuaded Ben to make me one and I have to tell you it's a fine piece of work. Came with good notes/diagrams and a recommendation to use an MSD 6AL Ignition Control ($180 at dragracing.com).
For anyone else who wants to junk the digiplexes this is the best answer I've found. If you are a 'keep it looking original' type, simply put an original distributor cover on and only you will know. Seems a shame to hide this good-looking unit, 'tho.
Anyone who wants one should get in touch with Ben before he moves on to his next project, which I understand is injection moulding the front light lens...
BTW, here the Brits would write 'usual denials', which is shorthand for "I have no financial or other interest in this"... I'm writing as a very pleased 'customer'. |
