From what I've read in the Original Ferrari V8 book, and this applies to 308s, the Euro 308s had the small Ferrari badge, the U.S. versions did not...luckily, mine has them. |

Hello Rob, I had a very similar problem with the 308 -- cracked passenger side mirror with "bubble" mirror stuck on by original owner. There's a complete thread about my whole ordeal (including a solution for the power mirror switch as well) -- here's the link: passenger side mirror replacement Basically, I purchased an "over the counter" mirror for a Ford Aerostar (lots of extra glass in case something went wrong) from Pep Boys. Took that and the old mirror from the 308 to a local glass/mirror shop and they cut a duplicate, and affixed the adhesive strip on the back as well. I found the best way to remove the old mirror was by using a hair dryer and heating the glass enough to where it could be pried carefully away with a jeweler's screwdriver.

Rob, maybe you should try a glass & mirror shop... see if they can cut a mirror to the proper size. Try your best to remove what's there and glue in the replacement.... just a thought. |

My passenger side mirror glass must of cracked, because someone glued a smaller mirror over it and it looks kind of tacky. Without replacing the entire unit ($$$), does anyone have a recommendation? |

Anyone know where to buy these Euro-styled mirrors for my '86 328 that has the big black blocky ugly U.S. mirrors? Thanks. |

The shield can be removed. It is a plastic composition and raised . It is not a decal either. |

Hey Magoo can the logo on the after shave be taken off, or is it glass? |

Thanks everyone so far for your input on this subject -- I'm learning quite a bit about the various years / models / options. Finally, I've located a source for the oblong rectangular shaped badge (yellow w/ black prancing horse & Ferrari logo) - which is basically a scaled down version of the nose badge - that J.Scott referred too (3/4" x 3/8"). Black Barts carries them ( www.black-barts.com). Their part number for this particular item is: FD/3SP Badge/Ferrari/Rear View Mirror. It comes with a stud on the back of the badge (but can be removed with strong clippers). Bart had two in stock for me, but may carry more. Another source that I found was Door Lock Emblem. Their part: Door Lock Emblem measures 1.1" x 5/8" (larger than the original Ferrari badge, but close in size). It is intended to be used on Fiero rebodies / Ferrari replicas to replace the Fiero Pegasus badge. Hope this info. is of help to anyone else who might be considering adding these to their F-car like me. |

Euro 328's (and 308 QV's) had different style mirrors. In the U.S., the scuderia shield was added in 1988. Dave |

Ive noticed that U.S. spec '86s and '87s dont have them. I think they appeared in '88. My '86 328 does not have them. |

My euro 328 has the shields on the mirrors too. I read somewhere (don't remember if it was a reliable source) that the US mirrors had to be larger to meet DOT standards. I suspect many owners changed to the euro mirrors... |

I can throw a wrench is some of this speculation since my 1988 US production 328 has the shields on the mirrors. Perhaps there was a "sport mirror" option? Mike |

I think that all euro 328 have the mirrors with a small babge on (see pic in my profile) and US 328 have a different kind of mirror, more square i think, without the badge. Ciao Peter |

Eric: I have a 1989 328 and both mirrors have the small Ferrari badge on them. I believe they are a stock item. Mine are about half an inch long. I think you may find them on Italiancarparts.com. Thanks for the file for the air box logo. Mine looks pretty good now. |

I've noticed that in several pics of 328 cars that there are small Ferrari / Prancing Horse logos (rectangular) on the front of the sideview mirrors. Are these stock Ferrari items, or add-ons by 328 owners? Does anyone know what the Ferrari part number would be for these, or know of a good source for obtaining them? I personally think that they look rather classy on those F-cars, and would like to add them to the 308 if possible. |
