I just confirmed that a 1994 348 Spider does require a group 34R battery which is the Optima orange top reverse polarity type.

It was the service manager from FOA that told me to get the orange top. Does the 348 need reverse posts ?

My buddy has the yellow top in his Jeep with an electric winch. For the car I would think the red top would suffice.

Frank

I am pretty sure the yellow is deep cycle. Orange is the same as red except with reverse polarity. Check www.optimabatteries.com.

The orange is deep cycle which is better for a non-daily driver.

I have a red top. I think the orange has the reverse posts. Yellow is good too, if you store your car - which I know you don't :-)

After pulling my 348 Spider into the garage last night, I noticed the check engine lights were on. After turning off the engine I tried to re-start the engine and it did nothing. An hour later the engine started up fine. After some testing it turned out to be a bad battery. I plan to replace it tonight with an Optima orange top.
