Yes, the Mondial frame can be unbolted and dropped, engine and all, but there is no need to do that for a belt change. The right wheel is removed along with the wheel well and the belts are accessed in that manner. Replacing the spark plugs requires one to simply fold down the rear seat and remove an access plate. It's pretty easy. I have not adjusted my valves, but I don't think that you have to drop the engine to do that! This is, of course only pertaining to 3.0 and 3.2's. The T will require you to drop the engine.

Thanks for the info. 4 hours? That is fast. I am surprised it isn't more involved. Did you take any photos of the engine while it was out? Thanks.

Just had the major done to my mondial a couple months ago. Not 30,000 miles but the belts were 11 years old and decided to do the whole thing. The engine/transmission and rear suspension all come out as one unit. It makes working on the system WAY simpler. Time wise for the shop it is cheaper than a 308 too because of the extremely easy access to the engine then.
Since the valves need to be adjusted, the engine will be coming out. Takes about 4 hours to take out and about 6 to 8 to put back in.

no but most mondials have the special frame for dropping the engine if need be. There is access panel to rear bank behind rear seats - seat do not have to come out. would think engine out for heads

Some questions about the Mondial. For
the 30K does the engine have to come out on the Mondial or is it like the 308 engine stays in the car. How do you get to the rear bank plugs? Does the rear seats come out? If you
can do it in the car and the rear seats come out can the heads be removed in the car or is it like the 308 in that respect, engine removal. Thanks for the info.
