George -- I understand you were successful. The actual upper panel in my '91 TR is not shaped like the one shown in the SPC (the bent down flange is on the other long edge) so I don't know if this was a change by the coachbuilder or if mine is modified/different (it seemed unmolested). |

Steve: The panel on my 87' is just tucked under the entire length of the top dash cover. It pulled out fairly easily. The other side is contained by the glass. The finished dash looks great! |

Argyle -- Re: removing TR seats -- there are 2 screws holding each seat track to the chassis (4 screws per seat): 1. Put the seat bottom all the way forward with the seat back tilted forward and you can get to (and remove) the screw at the rear of each seat track (in the middle of the track). 2. Put the seat bottom to the rear and remove the screw at the front of each seat track. 3. Lift out seat. George -- Are you sure about being able to get the upper flat panel out without removing the dash itself? On mine the upper flat panel had a ~1" bend at the edge towards the driver that came down over the rectangular chassis tubing and had several small screws securing it. I don't have my TR SPC with me but perhaps all years/versions are not the same. |

Those pedals are not only the thing, but very cool! I will search and find. The windshield was replaced because of small crack but total time, in and out,was less than 3hours. I would imagine a local glass guy could handle it for you. I live in Penna. and have access to a number of guys that are capable, so it was easy. Good luck! |

George -- those are the Ti Pedal Pads from Titanium Cavallino: http://www.titaniumcavallino.com/ferrari/ I've gushed about them so many times here and on the FList that I'm a little embarrased about doing it again -- but they are just wonderful IMHO and I can highly recommend them. Although a tad pricey, I think they are the only good choice for a road car where the shoe conditions are more variable (i.e., more appropriate than Aluminum Pedal Pads since the Ti material resists surface wear much, much better). Do a search on "titanium cavallino" and you should get the previous discussions. Here's a more attractive shot after reassembly:

Steve: I like the pedals on your TR. Are they aftermarket and if so, where did you get them? Thanks, George |

Marcus: Just had mine done (87 TR). Easiest way is to remove the windshield if the replacement is only the flat tray that houses the defroster vents(flat piece that extends across the windshield span-is adjoined by the windshield on one side and the dashboard). The piece is then easily removed --pulled from the dash, and sent to the upholster for recovering. All at less time and $$$. |

Somewhere there is a detailed instruction set that was written up about this (altho I doubt it was on this board). I read this only after I had done mine, and somehow I didn't remove the seats or the steering column, but it still was a big pain to do. -Ben

Marcus -- What version TR do you have? The windshield doesn't have to come out, but on my US version TR it was a rather big project to disassemble the dash as basically the whole interior has to come out in the order: seats and steering wheel tunnel instrument panel forward tunnel panels tunnel speakers knee panel drop the steering column dash panel upper panel
The WSM (330/84) has some disassembly instructions (but they aren't that useful) and the SPC (587/90) was somewhat helpful (but it doesn't show the fasteners like my ex-308 SPC). Good luck... |

While my car is in for service, I am thinking of having the dash redone, as the leather is getting worn and has shrinked due to heat. What is the easiest way to remove the dash parts so I can take them to the upholstery shop? Does the window have to come out? What manual would I find the removal procedure in? Thanks, Marcus |
