I want to replace all my fuel hoses, does anyone know where you can get all of them, say in a kit, or do you just start taking them off and go in search of. I plan on doing this this summer when it's really to hot to drive. Thanks |

There was a post on here sometime ago and it sounded like a simple deal when they exlained how they did it. They were able to move the tank a small amount to get better access to the hose. I'm sure it is in the archives. It was around the same time when Dina R&R the heater hose on her 308. |

Bretm, I just finished replacing this hose on my carb 308, after first replacing the brake booster and heater hose. I was unable to twist the old hose by hand to break it free, so I wound up slitting it and replaceing it with a new one. There were internal cracks in the old hose so it needed to be replaced in any event. There is about 1-inch clearance between the opposing tubes when in their proper positions. It is possible to force about 2-inches of the 4-inch hose onto the gas tank so one is left with about 1-inch of hose to collapse to get it onto the upper tube. For installation of the new hose, the exposed tubes were cleaned and the inside of the new hose was given 2-coats of silicone spray. The body retaining bolt for the upper filler tube was removed to replace its body grommet and to provide some compliance. The hose was thoroughly warmed and then forced onto the tank neck as far as possible. The other end was partially collapsed and worked under the filler pipe using a couple of small screw drivers and lots of cussing. Eventually, I was able to twist it into place by hand. This was not a fun job. Bill |

I used some silicone spray to lubricate the pipes and hose and after some pulling and swearing it will come out. Use the same proceedure to put it back. |

Are there any tricks to removing the gas tank on a 308QV? I got the straps off and the tank connecting pipe disconnected, but it seems to be held in place by the filler pipe (big 4" pipe on top of tank) which is connected by a hose to the filler cap on the body. The hose is jammed up against the body and down against the tank so you can't move it off either one. |
