Hans...I second that! Been waiting at least 4 months for the owner of Leatherique to "return a favor". Seems a while back they were supposedly relocating their operation to the Carolinas, and needed my services to assist them in selling a home here locally. I was extremely busy at the time, but was able to accomodate in very short order in exchange for his help on redying some of my 308's interior. Last I heard, the dye was mixed and ready, but they "were very busy lately as business was booming". Over 4 months later, I'm still waiting. Bottom line: he got my services for free within a week turn-around (and I was also extremely busy), yet I'm still waiting to hear from him!! Looks like Re-originals will be the way to go in this case. |

Be careful of Leatherique. They overcharged my credit card, and I have called them 4 times to get the difference refunded. Each time they say "Sure, right away." So far, no results. Check's in the mail. |

Bruno, I did mine and they turned out just like new. My seats were perfect other then they were fading and the color was not correct from age. I used the water based acrylic dye made by Connolly and available through Bill Hirsch 1-800-828-2061. My car is a 79 GTS and the color is 3218WB, Biscuit, with the clear waterbased sealer. I matched it to a piece of leather under the seat and it was a perfect match. 1 qt. of dye and 1qt. of sealer is enough to do the seats and door panels. I removed my seats and door panels and disassembled them to dye them and they came out great, no cracks and feel like new. That was about a year and a half ago and they still look great. You will be pleased with the product because it is a water based product and will not crack over time like dyes with solvents in them that when the thinners evaporate the dye hardens and cracks. Call them and they will give you all the info over. the phone, including sending you samples if you are not sure of the color. They are great people to work with. The dye was $75.00 a qt. and the clear was $35.00 a qt.. A little expensive but well worth the orig. touch when you want to do it right. |
