Happens to me every week or so as my big feet moves the carpet getting in and out of the car. I even use it to my advantage when needing to warm up the car at a temp that is low but which does not activate the cold start mechanism. I set 1500 rpms on the tach and then slide the carpet up to hold it exactly. |

Taso, When I first picked up my TR, I had the exact same problem. I was bummded out until my wife looked in and moved the floormats back. End of problem. If you go to the fabric store and buy some stickback velcro, you can put it on the underside of the mats, and they wont slide anymore. HTH Scott |

Taso: I just had the same problem occur to me today. My nephew was driving and the revs stayed up. I moved the floor mat, which sits on the carpet, back, and the problem was gone. It seems that it slowly slips forward. I didn't realize that the problem was so common. |

James, it is funny that you mention the carpet since I had the same experience shortly after I got my car. Taso, James is right on. Try his suggestions if the carpet thing doesn't work. |

Taso - as silly as it sounds - I assume you checked the carpet. Mine occasionaly slips and presses against the throttle. If not that, with the engine off, reach under the air filter and open the throttle by hand and see if the springs snap the linkage back when released. If neither of these seem to mechanically hinder throttle linkage, then perhaps there is an air leak. I defer to those with more experience to discuss this symptom vis-a-vis the injection system. Hope this helps. Jim |

Have a 90 testarossa, last drive out, the revs would drop very slowly after I released the throttle. Example, release throttle at 3000 rpms (with clutch in), revs would stay at 3000 for a couple of seconds, then move slowly down to 1000 rpms, I would say taking about 5-7 seconds to get to 1000 rpms. Also, releasing throttle (not touching clutch), TR didn't seem to slow down as usual, kind of keeping same speed for a few seconds, then slowly slowing down. Anybody with similiar problems? Have had TR for only a month, runs great. Purchased workshop manual. Not sure if I can tackle myself or just take in for service. Thanks, Taso |
