Look at the back of the wheels. If there is "Lega di Magnesia" these wheels are from magnesium. I have some problems when coating these wheels. I used cromate primer for the first coat. Standard Epoxy primer comes of in a few weeks. Dirk |

bruno -- It was about a year ago (but $125/each is still a very decent value IMO). I think I got a "deal" because my local bodyshop (who had done some spoiler/rocker refreshing for me) gave me an internal person at Keystone to contact rather than just calling the main number so I think I got the "friend-of-a-friend" discount price. |

I, too, can recommend checking with Keystone Automotive for later F wheel refinishing (of course I used the branch here in Denver). Somehow I got hooked up at $99/wheel when I had my TR wheels (re)done. They even had a driver to pick-up and deliver since they pick-up/deliver to area body shops. |

I get the wheels done at 800-962-9109.They check and straighten if needed, They blast and sand them. powder coat and bake. scuff, paint, and clear for $125.00 per wheel. They come back like new. Keystone Automotive. Usually 3-4 days. They also mount and balance correctly. If your local it's great to just drop off the wheels and tires. |

Stephen, Go to search and type in wheels. There was a thread about wheather the wheels are magnesium or aluminum. At the end of the thread, it seems nobody knew for sure what the wheels are made of. There was a lot of valuable info on that thread, including a name and phone number of a person who can weld magnesium, and lucky for you, the phone number had a 415 area code. |

I was looking for some leads on refinishing my 16" QV wheels this summer. I believe that they are magnesium. Does this pose any special problems? Any comments would be most appreciated. TIA
