Once again Doug, their analyzer may be off specs for that car. After putting the 104+ in the tank drive the car until you are sure it is well into operating temps. Then take it in for the test. Later ,if it passes, take it to a Ferrari dealer and have a exhaust analyzer check done ,if you are still in doubt. MAGOO |

Yes, I put in the high octane booster, but I am looking for any other potential ways to drop it. I went to get it re-tested today but they were closed. |

DOUG, Did you try the 104+ octane booster that I mentioned. I know you want to get to the source of the problem, however I have had that problem with my cars before and after using the 104+ they pass with flying colors. It may also be as suggested that their analyzer was malfunctioning. Try it with the 104+ and work on the problem later,if there is a problem. Just a suggestion. MAGOO |

On the same note: I have the same car, an '84 308 and I was wondering if the idle adjustment screw can have any effect on the HC in emissions at idle. I posted a few days ago about failing at idle on th HC test and was wondering if setting a higher or lower idle could have a reciprocal effect on the test. As an example, would lowering the idle adjustment but increasing the RPM with the throttle adjustment help? The car passed the HC portion of the test under load so I was wondering if giving the car some gas to maintain an idle RPM would help? |

Frank, Just a thought , it almost sounds like a vacuum leak. Have you checked all of the hoses. I don,t know if this is at all possible but when you changed the tps did you disconnect the battery to erase the code. Not much help, but good luck. MAGOO |

When I start the car it idles at 3000 rpm for about 15 minutes or so before it settles down to 1100 -1200 rpm. i changed the throttle positioning sensor and that did not seem to help the adjustment screw is all the way out and the linkage is hitting the plenum. Any thoughts?? |
