Hi Hans I appreciate your help, I know it took some time to look it up for me. I finally got to play with this last night. The pinout as you described is close to what I guessed at. Both are wrong :-( I finally found the pinout at http://catalog.com/susq/other/genlamp.htm Now the lights are happy, and probably better for oncoming traffic as well :-)

Gerrit: OK, here's what I have. Looking at the back of the headlight, with the middle connector up so the three connectors look kinda like an igloo, the one on the left is the 'common'. The one on top (roof of igloo) is the high beam. Hans. (not an Eskimo, nor do I play one on TV) |

Still confused. Must be the difference in the Euro version. I'll look at the pinout a little later and get back; however, keep in mind that this pinout will be for the old fashioned US sealed beam lamp. |

Hi Hans My 1976 has only individual wires. That of course doesn't mean it left the factory that way :-) I converted my driving beams back to e-code H4 bulb headlights, will do the high beams to H1 type next year. The standard wiring seems to support only driving beam (2 wires) on the outside lights, only high beam (2 wires) on the inner ones. This matches the wiring diagram. For the time being I am using the outer lights for both driving and high beams. My car is a Euro, not sure if that makes a difference to the connectors or not. |

Gerrit: A little confused. My GT4 ('75) has a 3 wire socket that plugs onto the back of the old fashioned circular headlight. H4? Doesn't ring a bell. However, I'll be glad to check the connection on my lights, if that helps any. |

I need to confirm the wiring to my headlights, something doesn't look too bright on low beam. Can someone tell me the pinout for the 3 terminals on the back of an H4 bulb? The 308 GT4 has separate wires, not the typical 3 prong connector. Since I am too cheap to buy H1's right now, I want to use the high beam on the H4's I bought :-) |
