That's where I got mine Bret. The times that I've seen originals on eBay, they've gotten up to those prices, so I feel I paid fairly. More so considering private sales in FML and FCA newsletter. |

No problem. They'll come in handy, big time. |

I got repros and they are indespensible. I have the owners, parts catalog, 308 shop manual, and quattrovalvole manual. They are all really good. The most useful have been the owners and the spare parts I would say. If you are going to work on your car you're gonna need them eventually. I got mine from Italian Car Parts: www.italiancarparts.com They're not cheap, but trust me you get into one of those tight Ferrari spots and you'll fall in love with them. They came in use for me this weekend when I was adjusting the transmission linkage. Without them I wouldn't have had a clue on how the Ferrari trans works, as it is very different than normal cars. |

Get repros if you can, this way during the work, you can thumb through the pages with your greasy hands and not worry about messing up an original book. I agree with Herbert's comments on how it doesn't tell you any great detail. To this day I still don't know what the min. thickness of the flywheel should be (for example). The only type of problem I came across with the P.C. is that some of the part #'s are no longer valid. Tim @ Brian Jessel Ferrari caught them and ordered the right parts. But you still need these books no matter what. If you run into problems...you know where to look! |

Hey guys, thanks for the quick response's. I've overhauled numerous american engines, carbs, etc. for years. I guess you might say I do have the nack for such things. However I'm not foolish enough to tear into an engine without being formally introduced. That's why I'm trying to find the right manual for the 308. I guess the american manuals have me spoiled. Thanks a lot for your help. Magoo |

I have both for my 82 308 and neither really is what I would consider a great manual. The shop manual assumes you already know how to do everything and is primarily specifications. The parts manual is pretty good but does contain errors which can lead to ordering errors unless you catch the error yourself or the parts person knows of the error and catches it for you. They both are however better than nothing. Do not expect the shop manual to tell you step by step of how to do everything as a domestic car shop manual does. I guess not many novices tackle a Ferrari to learn on, but if that's all you have to practice on????????? |

Magoo, I have both Parts and repair and wouldn't want to do without either, I got them from outfit listed below (aka car literature)they are straight to deal with and you can save $$ my asking for reprints if you don't need originals. I just bought factory Schematic manual from them the other day and that completes the set. White racing products 9946 Redmond court Indianapolis in 46236. 317-826-1974 |

Hey Guys, I want to get a good workshop manual for major projects such as engine overhaul, valve adustment, carb. overhaul etc.. Some guys say the parts manual is best because it gives you a explode view of how things are assembled. Then others say the workshop manual is best because it walks you through each step of the way. Maybe you guys who are in the middle of your engine rebuild or who have already rebuilt yours might give me an idea of what to use and where they can be purchased. Thanks, MAGOO |
