Harry & Mitchell,
These photos were taken in fading light and in a dark garage. Ill take some more shots of
the interior pieces today in better light. This is my first use of the camera and software so
they might not come out very good.
Here are some photos of the belt and the mounts.

The rear seat is attached by a bolt through each side. If you look closely you can see the
nutplate rivited to the inside of the seat.

I hope these photos help.

Mike,
I have done a modification of a '75 GT4 to automatic retractors. I have fixed them with the seat bolts as there is no other proper point. It would be very helpful if you could post a picture how the original fixings look like.
Thanks
Harry

Mitchell,
I posted an answer that may or may not have gotten through with the site being down for a few days. I currently have the interior out of my '77 308 GT4, your rear seat should be the same as mine. Only the actual part that you sit in (well not actually YOU unless you are 2 ft tall) comes out, the sidepocket/armrests are seperate parts. Just 2 bolts hold the seat in, one in each sidepocket above the "floor" of the storage nook that covers the front seatbelt retractor. Some early cars, maybe your car is one of them, didn't have front seatbelt retractors but the seat should be fastened in the same way. Just reach into the storage pocket/armrest under the side window and locate the bolt, it runs into the edge of the seat in an "across the car" direction. The top edge of the seat hooks over a lip under the rear window. Once the 2 bolts are removed the seat should lift up, releasing the top edge from the lip under the window and clearing the seatbelt tray in the center of the seat. At this point it's just a matter of maneuvering it out of the door. The sidepockets themselves are made up of several pieces of fiberglass and bent aluminum with some leather glued on. While you are in there you might as well remove them also for a good cleaning. Behind them you will find a panel riveted over an access hole for the area under the side window. If you drill out the rivets to remove the panel you can get in there to clean, rustproof and/or paint the inside of the fender (a notorious rust spot on GT4's). Interestingly enough I found that my interior componets from the rear seat area were all marked with the same 3 digit number. Does anyone know it it is an assembly #, option # or employee identification?

Let us know if your car is different. I have been thinking of recreating the "luggage shelf" option for my car so that I can trade back and forth between a seat or a shelf, it could be changed over in just a few minutes.

I posted this once before and got one answer. I followed the answer and found that mine is not like that. What is the proper method to remove the back seat on the GT4 1975? Does anyone know?
