I got used to this layout which is intuitive and correct much the way I acclimated to the racing pattern shifter in my GTB.

Rob's approach makes sense to me, very logical; plus I have a Ferrari why do I need to be like everyone else, my car sure isn't??!!!

it's an implementation detail.

some board software does a nice job of jumping you to the first post in the thread that you haven't read yet (eg: avsforum). it works great. it renders the directionality mostly meaningless since you always end up right where you belong - whether you scroll up or down from there is arbitrary.

I agree, please keep it this way as it saves a LOT of time! It makes it so very easy to get continual updates on exisitng threads as they prgress.

KEEP IT THE WAY IT IS: LIFO (Last In First Out).

Rob's right on, I like it this way. Saves me a lot of time picking up an in-progress thread w/o having to scroll to the bottom.

Of course I understand your reasononing..it's logical...but that only works out if the user has read all posts before...and even if they have 3 days ago if they remember them. I visit the forums at least multiple times daily..but even now 9 of the top 14 posts had more then 10 posts..and i scrolled all the way to the bottom to refresh my memory and read up. If i could log every single post into my memory i would be fine. :-)

Robs right,

but I know what you mean, it is the opposite so a bit of a brain jerker when used to flip flopping between forums.

All the other boards in the world are doing it the wrong way. The #1 reason is because a thread is visited multiple times by a user in it's life. Why scroll through messages you've already seen, with all the new ones on top, then that saves you all that scroll. Also, for the people the visit the board so often usually only one or two messages have been posted to a thread, then they don't have to scroll at all. It's all on the page.

Sorry for being in the tech area, but there is no Off-Topic area and i didn't want to post this in the General ferrari discussion.....just wondering if anyone else thinks it's extremely awkward to read the threads on this board because they go from bottom to top. I wonder if Rob has it setup this way for a specific reason.... I read several other boards..and when I get to this one, it just seems more difficult to read this way......reading a post from top to bottom but scrolling up makes it almost impossible to skim smoothly. Awesome board still...I'm semi-new andjust finally decided to ask why it's backwards since noone else has. Thanks.
