I have a 96 355b which has lately been giving me fits! The car ran fine at a recent track event. The weekend after I tried to start it at home...nothing, no starter motor noise, no evidence of a low battery. My mechanic came over, started it with some sort of device from the engine bay and took it to his shop. He replaced the remote battery, told me that the remote wasn't deactivating the alarm properly but now was supposedly fixed. That was two days ago when I brought it home. This is the same problem!! What I noticed before and this time is that the SLOW DOWN light came on when I tried to turn the ignition and stayed on for roughly 3 seconds after I removed the key. A good friend of mine thinks it is something in the black box which is sending an errant message to the ECU. I should note that I do have Test Pipes on the car and I don't know if this is causing some sort of weird signal to be sent back to the ECU. However, when the car is running it runs without so much as a hiccup. Anyone with technical knowledge in this area...your input would be greatly appreciated!!
