Magoo, Yes it has the original 90 hp 161 ci engine. With a car that weighs only a little over 2,000 lbs and with a 4:55 rear, it moves fairly well. Fun car. |

Try a product from a company called Secret Audio http://www.secretaudio.com/. Keep the stock radio and hide this entire unit in the trunk or under a seat, it comes with a RF remote control (not IR). I have one with a CD player installed in a 54 Kaiser Darrin that never had a space for a radio when new. Lots of power and it works great. |

Michel, My 79 308 has the orig AM FM 8 track tape player. Mine works great and I added a booster amp with a equalizer also converting the speakers over to higher wattage speakers. Eveything looks orig., no cutting holes etc. Amp. concealed under dash, speakers same size installed in the doors. If you want a CD player or casset player radio, get the kind you can install in your car out of site and work it remotely. |

I've seen places that make classic looking replacement radios but have the latest circuitry as well as concealed CD player. You could also restore your original radio and conceal a modern one. Or... Here's a place I saw in Hemmings that will convert your radio: RADIOS: convert your original car radio to quality AM-FM stereo, looks original, sounds great, controls, push-buttons, even Wonderbar fully functional, credit cards accepted. I don't know the dash setup on that model but I mounted my Mondial T stereo deep enough to put the leather cover over it when I need to. |
