Does anyone know of a place that repairs/rebuilds them? |

Just be careful driving if you are experiencing a rough engine and some backfiring. I've had some electrical / iginition / spark problems which resulted in some unburnt fuel being expended in the catalytic converter. Yes...the muffler was extremely hot and nearly ended up with a crispy 308. If the problem is electrical and it sounds like it is, be careful. I always listen closely to the engine at all times for a re-accurance of my electrical gremlins. |

The carpet in the LR of the trunk is held down by a strip of velcro, just pull it out. The module is under the metal panel held down by 4 6mm (10mm heads) bolts, remove those flip over the panel and voila! Does your car run on both coils when giving problems? Do you lose a bank of 4 cyls. or 1or2 only? |

Mine just pulls up. It's on its own piece of carpet and some sort of base. I only looked at it once quickly, when I first got the car to see what it was in there. |

How do you get to them? I have noticed that they are in the drivers side compartment but how does the carpet come up to look at them? |

I would be careful as I have heard that a bad module can throw a timing belt. I think they are about $650 each or so. |

My 1985 308 QV is running a little rough and my mechanic thinks that the car may need a new ignition module. He said that the ignition module was a problem with the 308 and that Ferrari updated the part. Does anyone know anything more about this or how much this part is? My car is running rough and is not smooth as I accelerate. It also backfires a little from the exhaust which could be a sign that the car needs a valve adjustment. TIA, Ken |
