I can not post pictures yet because I do not have a digital camera. However, I did it the same as someone else did that posted pictures. Look in the archives but yes I made a bracket for the bottom of the fans to hold them and one at the top to steady them. It takes a lot of time and some metal cutting but it is worth it. |

could you post some photos of the new set up? Did you need to make up new mounting brackets? |

Great. I am glad the Hayden Fans worked for you. It is a very good idea to change the stock fans out with Hayden fans. |

Last post of a long process. My 75 308 GT4 was getting hot >105C. I had the radiator cleaned (no help). I installed a front air dram (helped on Highway). I installed a new thermostat (no help - old one ok). I bled the radiator always. I drilled and tapped the thermostat housing to bleed it (worked but did not solve problem). I checked fans for speed and direction (OK). I checked timing (OK). I added Redline water wetter (helped but not fixed). I had the water pump rebuilt (helped but not fixed). I retorqued the heads to eliminate some gas (helped but did not fix it). Finally, I decided that it was not going to work STOCK in South Texas so I installed two Hayden 3680s. I recently took it out on the freeway. The temp was 100F and the car stayed at 90C with the AC blowing full blast and cold. At idle the car rises to maybe 95C but holds. GREAT!! BTW, when the hood is raised in the driveway, the temp drops 5C. The hood opening restricts the air flow. Now to move on to getting the AC to be great and the idle to idle instead of changing all over the map. Thanks everyone. |
