PS: They're worn evenly across Bruno. The fronts are still like new. Maybe I've broken the sound barrier more than I remember...naw, not me - I'm too old for that kind of thing. |

I got 8,000 miles out of the S-02s on the rear with about 4,000 miles attributed to cruising down the hiway, 3,000 miles of ripping up the backroads, and 1,000 track miles. 1995 F355B |

I get about 3000-4000 miles out of a set of rears on my 348. However, I don't have a factory spec alignment, and I've never managed to run through a set of street tires without at least two or more track events. On the 308, if I kept the car off the track, I would get 6000-8000 miles out of rears. |

Since my car has the 85 mph speedometer I can only guess at the speed above that, but I have probably seen 100. My speeding days have passed and I am just happy to get where I am going. I will probably be one of those old farts in their Ferrari riding in the left lane with the left blinker on just cruisin. |

Hey Ed, I just got a set of P4000's. i guess that grey hair has something to do with it. HAHA I am very pleased with them. What's the fastest you have had your car upto on them. i've been up to 135MPH. No Problems Let me know Kelly |

I second Ed's recommendation: My car came with essentially unworn 10 year old Michelin TRX's. Still had the molding flash on the tread. Both front tires were down to the wear indicators on one side after ~6K miles, while the rear ones still had 2/3 or more of the tread depth. Sure 'nuff the front end was badly out of alignment, & needed tie rod ends. Steering was noticably crisper afterwards. I moved the tires to the rear & put another 1500 miles on them while tracking down Avon CR28s. When I pulled them off they hadn't worn noticibly more. |

Jim, I've got S-03's on my Audi S4...six thousand miles and they look great, but the Ferrari is another story...altogether! First, the S-02's are in an entirely different performance category than the P4000's than Ed has on his car...The S-02 will wear faster as they are a much, much more performance orientated tire by design. Without a doubt though, I too would check the alignment specs of your car. Excessive rear toe or camber can certainly cause premature tire wear! However, in my experiences with my Euro 308,328 and BB no matter what type of ultra high performance tires I have had on these cars, the rear tires never lasted much past 8,000 miles...And with a bit of "moderate" high speed driving and agressive cornering, I only got 3,000 miles out of a set of Yoko 008r's on the rear. Front tires would typically, from a tread remaning point of view, last 2-3x the rear. If the tires are wearing evenly within reason, considering the rear camber specs...and not too worn in the centre...I chalk up the excessive tire wear to the excessive enjoyment factor! I don't care what kind of tire you are useing, that much wear is not normal. I would get a four wheel alignment done because something is bad wrong. I have 5000 miles on some Pirelli P4000s on my 308 and they still look new. |

I put Bridgestone S-02 Pole position tires on my 308 only two years ago (approx. 5000 miles wear) and the tread depth is almost gone already. I don't do burnouts but have been known to break into the three digit sound barrier once or twice. My question is, is it typical for these types of tires to wear out so soon? Yes I keep them inflated properly. Anyone else with poles on their car w/ similar results?? |
