ill bet that those 13 year belts are a little crispy. Besides, it's easier to an engine out on a 328 Mondial then any Ferrari. We have that seperating frame.

Hey, change the belts before you drive it anywhere. Better safe than sorry when toying with a $15,000 engine. I would just do a major service to be safe, yeah its expensive, but replacing the head on a 3.2 Mondial is MUCH more. Change em now!

Each time you start the car you will wonder if the belts are deteriorated enough to break. I would change them but it depends on how you feel knowing they may or may not go at any time.

welcome to the mondial club, might as well do them, the seals/gasket etc should be looked at as well - 14 years and 2k miles things get dryed out etc from inactivity - spend the 2 to 3k and give yourself the piece of mind.

I would change the belts soon. Even if the owner tells me that the belts were changed I still change them just to be safe. It is worth it especially if you can do the labor yourself.

I just bought a 88 Mondial with 2600 miles on it . The car looks and run great ! It was part of a collector's estate. I was told that even if the car has very few miles on it I should do the timing belt service so I don't run the risk of having to rebuild the engine later. I realize the car is 14 years old but I was going to wait at least till 6000 mi to do it.Please advise.
