I bought two german carb flow meters at www.superformance.co cost 23.50 uk about $37.00 US. a piece. these are easier to use than the uni sync because they are cone shaped and fit in the V stack of the carb and stay. uni sync have a flat bottom so you dont get as good of a seal and you have to hold them in place while ajusting. two flow meters makes ajusting a snap, side by side you can watch the needles even out while turning the synchronizing screw. |

Jeff I just got one for my 77 308. I got it from "Greenfield Imported Car Parts" , 335 High Street , Greenfield , Ma. 01301 , Phone # 413 774-2819 . Paid $48 for it . It's a Synchrometer Type SK and works great. Steve |

I have a Uni-Syn and have used it for the last 20 years with success. I usually try to adjust the venturi to be in the mid part of the range to give me the best accuracy with a resonable flow (and minimum restriction). |

I guess its like comparing apples to oranges. They're both good and work to quench hunger, but both completely different. Yes, if I adjust so each barrel is flowing the same indicated volume, it should be just as accurate. |

PETER,To answer your question, Go to the weber synchrometer search and under weber carbs they say that their unit is better than the UNISYMS. Of course they want to sell their unit. It seems to me as long as you can "peak" the carb with a sync. tool, why wouldn't yours be just as good.MAGOO |

I just bought a Uni-Syn synchrometer from Ebay. It looks very much like the one illustrated in the Owner's/W.S. manuals. Are these just as effective/accurate as the STE? FYI: I passed on an earlier listing for a STE on Ebay a couple of months ago, so it seems these tools regularly appear there. |

Jeff I bought one last year for my 77 and I'm looking for the receipt. I do remember that I got the address out of the Haynes Weber Manual that you can get in any foreign car parts store. They have a list of Weber specialists inside. Steve |

Do a web search on: STE Syncrometer (or Synchrometer the spelling is often somewhat variable), Type SK Heres one hit that came up -- http://www.racetep.com/linkage.html (upper left column) Wouldnt be without one if I was in a relationship with a carbed F! |

Anybody know where I can get a carb synch tool for a 77 308GTB? I'm getting ready to go back on the road after a long NY winter and want to check the carb synch. |
