Thanks Jeff , I'll tackle this in a week or so. For some reason my front brakes are not working and I suspect that the pistons are frozen. I will try to bleed them before I take it apart.I've had both valves (bias and circuit)and maybe when I bled the system I didn't get it clean. |

Steve, I'm in the middle of doing mine. As Ric said, no special tool to remove the dust boots. Be careful removing the pistons. If you try to grip them with channel locks you'll probably scar them. I used the method given in the ATE sheet that comes with the rebuild kit. Plug an air line into the connection and slowly apply pressure until one piston pops out (put a piece of wood in there to cushion it). Then you need to clamp a cover over the open cylinder and do it again for the other piston. Works like a charm. |

Has anyone done a front brake cal. rebuild on an early 308 (1977)? I just got the kits and wanted to know if you needed a special tool to put on the dust boots. Thanks |
