I think it's better termed the "AC condensation drain" -- although "vent pipe" is a reasonable alternative that conveys enough meaning and is not unsimilar to what one should expect (and will see) in technical translations -- JMO.

The felt weather channel I bought from a local auto glass store ("Speedy Auto & Window Glass"), here in B.C., Canada. I'm not sure of the manufacturer's name, but it came from CA. Model# 8A2 Flexible. It is EXACTLY the same as the original stuff for ALOT less than I.C.P. or any other F supplier ($26 Cdn per 8ft length). You'll need 20ft total (10ft per door, which does both quarter and main windows). Replacement is not that difficult, yes you will need to remove the windows from the doors, but it isn't difficult at all. For the main window, un-do the two nuts holding the wind-up cable, slide down, tilt forwards a bit and then tilt out, then lift up and out. For the quarter window, drill out the two pop-rivets holding the metal plate on the bottom, slide window down and twist out. |

The fabric covered seal round the door window glass on my GT4 is getting worn and frayed. Is this replaceable - and if so how difficult is it? It looks like the whole channel the windows runs up and down in would need to be swapped. Italian Car Parts stock "fuzzy strips" - but I'm not sure if this is the right stuff. Anyone help? One other question - what's the vent pipe sticking out of the undertray between the front wheels? Air con? |
