The Ferrari WS manuals carry a word for word of the Bosch manuals. It is not a majic system, very basic and reliable, don't try to change things for performance, it works best as set up stock. Any performance increase would require different distributor head/injectors etc..

Thanks for the info. I didn't think it could be too difficult. Is there any info in the WS manuals?

As CTK said, the K-Jetronic is fairly simple and robust, most problems can be traced to dirty fuel either over a period of time or just one bad tankfull. Injectors wear and seals leak in time and are easily replaced. Over many years of driving Audi Quattros, which use the same system, I have found that dirty/worn injectors and the seals that hold them into the manifold are the biggest culprits. Read the Probst book and "How to modify Bosch FI" by Ben Watson to learn how the system works. With a good set of gauges you can trouble shoot quickly. I got a nice gauge set from BMP Design ( www.bmpdesign.com ) that included adapters for just about every application.

K-Jet is fairly simple to work on once you understand the basics. Apart from a good manual, access to a CO tester, correct size wrenches, have a supply of new copper seals and rubber o-rings. Whenever, you crack open a fuel line that hasn't been touched in years, replace the seals.
My advice on annual replacement of fuel filters still hold.

I have been worried about the same thing. I have heard good things about it but if you can't work on it yourself then..... I haven't had a problem with the carbs yet. I was thinking about getting an injected 308 but am not too sure now. Has anyone had any luck with pressure testing or diagnosing Bosch Kjetronic Problems?

Thanks for the info. I didn't know if was that difficult to work on. Well, I will get the book and see if I can figure it out. I would like to be able to work on the injection system if something should go wrong.

The book "Bosch Fuel Injection & Engine Management" is a very good book for the novice. It is written by Charles O. Probst and is available at most larger book stores. One thing to keep in mind is that there is a zillion variations of the exact same system used on various cars. Each car maker tailors the same system for their particular application. Most of the basics are the same but there may be a particular operating map built into an application that will stump you unless you have the factory manual for the car you are trying to test. Does this make sense to everyone? You also need a set of gauges with a shut off valve to test control and rest pressures and enough adapters to hook up to all the different applications.

I have seen a few pressure testers for testing the Bosch K-Jetronic system. I was wondering how difficult it is to do this? I would like to be able to work on my FI system and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to pressure test the system and are there any good manuals that explain how to perform this properly.
