James...your dash instrumentation turned out great! You shouldn't have any problems at the Concorso with that one. Sorry that I didn't have any archived pics of an '89 dash, but glad that Phil and Bob were able to clear the matter up for you. Good luck at Pebble Beach -- keep us posted on how well you do in the event! | ||

You guys are super! Thanks for the help. My wife and I looked at all the photo's you have uploaded with astonishment! So,the photo that follows is my new instrument panel. For reference, the panel was $60 and available at my local dealer inside two days. Now, pulling the indicators is another issue which my sore fingers don't wish to discuss! Just to repay the favor, we do have a digital camera and would be willing to take any photos and post to the board if there are any areas on our car that may be of interest to others. Just posted this in the "Discussion" area.... oh well. This is from my 89... I'm sure it's original. Note "Anti Lock" in the left center. BTW, the bottom left light (not shown) is the "Slow Down". Remind me to spin my steering wheel around next time I take a pic of the dash!!!!??? :-) I don't believe any of the pics posted below by Eric are from 89's.  | ||

uh-oh, none of the below pics are for an '89 328. here's a scan of the owners manual addendum, which I assume is what you'd want to follow for concourse.  if you can't read it, the indicators from left to right are: fan, abs, seat belt, the rest as in the pictures below (ok, I don't remember what the symbols mean :-) ... one is fog lights, the other I think is exhaust temp warning) | ||

I'm sorry, I don't have a reference photo. The ABS era 328's had a slightly different indicator arrangement, in order to accomodate the ABS warning lamp(s). | ||

I'm readying the '89 328GTS for the Concorso next month in Pebble Beach. I pulled the instrument cluster to replace the dash as the previous owner had drilled several cute little holes to mount alarm LED's. Please don't do this! Future owners of your car will thank you! Anyway, I noticed that the 8 indicator lights were not in the positions described in the manual. Would a couple of you be willing to take a quick digital photo of your '89 328GTS instrument cluster and post for me? This may also be of general interest to others. Thanks in Advance!
