Hi , I am on CPS..just had to move my ferraris to a new garage,, it is getting really tuff here in midtown...I am totally jealous..you get storage and use of a lift? wow! how much does that cost --(what I wouldn't give...) I am thinking of buying a lift to do more, faster, easier work on my cars...) I am turnign green with envy...I have used Classic Coacha and I think brett is near there but I think he went to a ruin of the mill rad shop (although I would be careful..I shudder to think the cost of rplacing my 308 radiator if it gets screwed up... we should meet up! |

Paul, I am in Manhattan, I think Bret used a shop in NNJ, how far out on LI is your 308? Do a search on heater hoses here on the chat and there is ample discussion...all relate a miserable two man job. |

Paul, Where are you? I am about to do the same job, I am in NYC area. I plan to fit a thin cardboard between condensor and rad to protect both upon extraction. I will upgrade fans as well. Did you do heater hoses yet. I dread that job from all I have read, but makes sense to do it all at once since material from bad heater hoses are likely to clog rad.

thanks Ric, I was hoping to avoid removal of the bonnet but it does seem like it will make the job much easier. |

I've always found it necessary, either due to clearance, or due to my frustration, to remove the front bonnet. If nothing else it makes the job 100 times easier. Use some form of marking to note the exact alignment of the bonnet to the hinges before removing. Disconnect the upper and lower coolant hoses. The condensor is attached to the radiator and it needs to be detached. I forget, but it seems like there are 2 or 4 mounting bolts on the sides. The condensor pipes are held down by one bolt, also, on the right side of the radiator. It useful to have a second person to help seperate the condensor as you lift up on the radiator. |

any special proceedures needed to remove the radiator on a 78 308? My radiator has begun weeping fluid along the upper seam...does anyone have a reputable radiator shop on the east coast (NY area would be ideal) that they have used? |
