Barry, yeah I have, not easy on the GT4. The screws on mine were slightly corroded and had to replace the screws upon reinstallation of the lamps. Other than that, it was pretty easy. The gt4's have this black plastic cover that is pretty tricky to wiggle out and not scratch the paint on the bucket. Since gt4's have twin lamps on each side, replacement of both lamps while the black plastic is out is a wise choice.

Same here, Dirk. However, I would like to remove the headlamp housing to get to the headlamp bucket and replace the sealed beam headlamps with E-codes. Some of the screws holding the housing in place are difficult to access. I, too, would appreciate advice from anyone having replaced the headlamps on their 308.

Thanks,
Barry

Dirk, funny you should ask this, because I was asking myself this question two nights ago while looking at the headlights---my gt4 is going into the body shop a week from now for a repaint. A simple answer is probably not, if you are not changing the current color of the car(and the paint is still in good shape). Undoubtedly yes, if you are changing color(or the paint is faded and in bad shape). There are alignment shims(washers) that fit onto the pivot shaft that the headlight bucket rotates on, so if you take out the headlight buckets, make sure to write down which washers go to which headlight bucket and to which side as well. Otherwise on reassembly, the gaps on the headlights when the are closed, will be unequal, or worst case will rub up against your main body and cause paint scuffing. Ouch.
