Yes, I need to remove the wheel. These look great. I plan on ordering a set sometime. I will keep you posted on how they work. Thanks for the lead. |

Never used them but Griot's has 10.5" jack stands at http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=10125 Ramps are great - unless you want to take a wheel off! |

I have looked everywhere and the funny thing is that on Shade Tree Mechanic they had a set of low profile jack stands and I can't find the company who sells them. |

Last time that I jacked up my 328 and left it overnight, (had to change the gear pan because of a crack)my doors got tweeked and had to be realigned. It was a real pain. The body has some flex so I don't think that I will jack it up for any prolonged period of time. |

What I do is drive my car up ramps I made from a couple of 2x10s. I made it a step ramp, it starts out as one 2x10 for about 2 feet and then there is another 2 foot 2x10 nailed on top of it. So I pull the 308 up the first two (for the front wheels) and then I slide the others under the car for the rear wheels. So the car is about 4 inches or so off the ground. Then the jackstands work better and I can get the jack underneath no problems and it lessens the dibocal of getting the car all jacked up. |

If I put it up one foot high and then jack up one side of the car. 3 wheels come off of the ground and when I start pulling on say a wheel well the car will start rocking back and forth. I know I could put the other side on jack stands too but I don't need to get the car that high that is why I think low profile jack stands would be nice. I have 2 sets and both are 12 inches or 1 foot. I have seen a set that is 11 inches but I am looking for about 9 inches or so. I hope that this makes my reason clearer. |

Northern Equipment usually has a bunch. I would also check Sears or a local auto store. Most jackstands are about that high though. At least 3/4' when down. You could always chock it with 4x4s instead of using stands, that's what I did when I left it up for awhile. How come leaving it a foot high wont work. Right now my car is inside about that high with only the right side wheels on. |

Does anyone know where I can get a set of low profile jack stands? Mine are about 1 foot high and I was looking for something slightly lower to keep the car lower. |
