Does anyone have the specs for the largest size tire, width and profile, that will fit on standard 1979 308 GTS rims without bottoming or fender-well clearance problems? |

I took the easy way out and got a set of Firestone 235-60 HR 14 which are about the same size as the 205's. I got the car with 215-60 VR14 Goodyears but they were just a little smaller in O.D. and the car would bottom out on the city streets. I still have them if anyone wants to buy them? Because I don't have a lot of open space here a 130MPH tire is good enough. I have seen 205-70 VR 14 tires made by Falken which looked very aggressive. Also check out some speed shops. Steve |

They will sel them to a freind of mine who owns a Goodyear dealership. He calling now to see how much more he can get off. I'll let you know. Thanks for the help, I had never heard of Coker before. |

Hey Buddy, I just looked in a older edition of Hemmings Motor News and had to look twice because of the price. But that's what they listed. You would think an older edition of the mag. would have lower prices. Anyway maybe they couldn't sell them at $345.00 and reduced them. That price sounds even better. At least we know who has them. Woah Magoo, are you reading Canadian prices!?! I'm looking for 14" XWX's and I just visited their site and price was $263 each. Kelly, I'm looking for tires too, this is our only choice. They are dropping like dominoes. Pirelli P4000 used to be V-rated... no more. AVON Turbospeeds (the cheapest) used to be... no more. Just like the dinosaur... |

I still have the orig. Mich. V rated tires that came on my 79 308 GTS that only have 5200 miles on them. Unfortunately they have a memory settled in the tire after many years of storage. I tried many places and couldn't find a comparable tire. Let me know if you find any thing,or does anybody else know where they could be located. It just occured to me,"What about Coker Tire Co." in Hemmings Mag. I'll have to check. Let ya know if I find them.MAGOO |

Does any one know where I can get U or V speed rated tires. Everywhere I look no one has a speed rated tire over S for my tire size. The tires on it now have an S speed rating. Goodyear said sorry, they don;t have anything that even comes close. I new some new rubber. The car is a 1980 308 GTSi. Thanks |
