I had a black on black 328 GTS for several years in the Atlanta area. The a/c was marginal at best. Tell him to learn to live with it or buy a 348 or later which has better a/c systems. |

If I remember properly, you look up under the vents (below the radio) and there is a duct that plugs into a plenum which feeds the center vents. As far as I know, this is the only place that A/C air comes out. The upper dash vents and lower dash vents are fed by fan/directional control units under the bonnet. Mike |

I live in central California and it sometimes gets 110 but mostly 100 for about 30-45 days. I am pretty new to the 328, how do you get to the dash vents? Under the front bonnet or the dash? Do you need to add some kind of directional gadget? Thanks for the instruction to this rookie. |

Thanks guys. When I'm there next month I'll check the temp output and the freon level...ugh, I hope it only needs a can or two of R-12 cause that's all I have left...and try that center vent trick. Mike |

Disconnect the hose (duct) behind the center dash vents... the air flows down by the feet but this increases the airflow 3-fold. The center vent in 328s really restricts the AC airflow. This works. |

I'm in Florida and my 328 air blows pretty cold. Since I never drive with the top on, it's used infrequently, most of the time to just add a little coolness on a very hot day. |

Mike, I knew a guy with a 328, it blew cold air, and for new orleans the heat is about the same. You have an r12 system. Have some one check it out. I'm using 134A on my car and loving it. Also tell him to get some temp readings. |

Hi guys, I recently gave (sold at a really really good price) my '88 328 to my father and shipped it to West Palm Beach. My father took it out today (it's been sitting for about a month) and called saying the A/C sucked. While the car was here in Knoxville, I had no problems with it cooling but the heat here is nothing like FL heat..that's brutal...does anyone in FL try to use their A/C and does it do any good? Is it worth trying to see if the system should be charged up or will it be overcome even in tiptop shape? I know the A/C is not one of the 328's strong points. If it doesn't work, that's cool too (no pun intended)....he always said he wanted to get the "whole" Ferrari experience ;) BTW, if you see a white/black 328 with convex wheels cruising around WPB area, say hello. The old man is ecstatic with his new toy! Thanks in advance. Mike
