Hans - thank you for the information. If this does not work I will consider the additive. I assume there are no compatibility issues. More to come. Jim Selevan |

'60s and '70s muscle cars had limited slip diffs, and this proceedure was recommended to work the oil into the clutch pack. However, often it did not work and positrack additive was needed. Available from Redline or GM dealers. |

Just completed 30K maintenance. All fluids changed, including transmission. First drive I noticed a low frequency rumble from right rear on slow (5 mph) left hand turn with minimal load. Soon began to notice on 5 mph right hand turn. Now sounds (feels) more like a chatter. Several expert friends have suggested this is the clutch(s) slipping in the limited slip differential, not an uncommon event. Perhaps precipitated by change in fluid or absence of fluid for the month while maintenance being done. No symptoms while driving straight, nor flywheel clutch slippage under heavy load. Recommended solution is to find a large parking lot, and in reverse, turn the steering wheel to lock to trace (in reverse) a tight circle for several revolutions. Then to repeat going in the opposite direction. This will result in maximum slip of the clutches providing lubrication of the faces. Question: Has anyone experienced this? Is this solution credible? Your help is appreciated. Jim Selevan |
