I FOUND THEM!!! After about 15 phone calls and E-Mails, I finally found these switches and the rubber contact boots at Ferrari of Los Gatos. What a great place to work with! They did not have them in stock but said they would make some calls and get back to me and an hour later they found them.

NEED DOOR SWITCH RUBBER BOOT

While we're on the subject, anyone know where I can get some thing to replace the 3" or so long rubber boot that insulates the wire to a door switch?

My driver's side boot has gotton so stiff that it won't flex enough to let the switch close. I cleaned & lubed the switch, & even lubed the wire, but no luck.

Not a big deal, but annoying as my driver door switch mostly doesn't.

I need one light for an '80 308, the light is round red lens, with two retaining screws. The prior owner either put in higher wattage bulb or left the door open too long and the red plastic lens melted slightly and became distorted so now any bulb I put in they hit the lens and the filament breaks.
I'm just not sure on the part #. The spare parts catalogue (spc) shows part#60291200 and 20083309.
Any suggestions/sources, and do I need both?

I already bought Evans' switches and sent them back. They are the teardrop type that screw in place. I did not want something that was so far from original. ICP said he may be getting some in in the next couple months. Thanks for all the help. Jerry.

34386 is the 328 style switch, which has a black rubber cover and a screw to hold it in. I put the 328 style switches in an '80 308 (I got the switches from GT $11/each), but there may be a problem with the clearances.

it seems the black plastic plugs on the door that push on the switch poke out too far for the newer style switch. the door will close, but it takes a little more effort. it may be that the door plugs in this car are wrong...they say "dino" on them....

I need to look at my 328 to see how the switches are actuated by the door, but currently the car is being held hostage until I finish breaking and possibly fixing the 308, so maybe someone else can take a peek at their car.

on the early cars, the door switch is round with a white button and just pressure fits into the hole in the jamb. kinda reminds me of the door switches on the cars I used to have back in the 70's, so maybe a junkyard scrounging trip would turn up something.

on the bright side, if the switches mark found work, you can replace all three for peanuts.

Jerry:
I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
International Auto at www.international-auto.com has a catalog available as a PDF download. The P/N I was reffering to is 34386. This switch is for a 1992 Alfa Romeo Spider. They have them on hand and they are $3.95 each.
Please advise if this works for you.

Jerry, you might check out www.evansauto.com and give them a call -- they might can help -- just a long shot.

BTW, just saw Barry's post, if Dennis McCann has them, I'd do that. $20 is a bargain if they are original new old stock.

The switches are no longer made. They are not available from any FNA dealer. Do a search in the archives as someone listed a parts guy that had some reproductions or something that would fit. They were NOT cosmetically the same, so I spent time cleaning/fixing my original ones instead. (not hard BTW).

FYI: International auto, FPE, Algar, Parts Source, hdrogers, all said no. They haven't seen these switches in quite a while. Thanks for the help though, I'll keep searching. Jerry.

Jerry,

You can also try Algar Ferrari, Philadelphia. Call parts and ask for Lee Romani.

Jerry -- in addition to my previous response (didn't realize that your door switches were missing, sorry about that), here are a few more links you might could try:

1) http://www.ferraripartsexchange.com/partsearch.asp
this should direct you to the appropriate part search page (just enter 60054509 and submit). I think their price was somewhere in the neighborhood of $25.XX

2) http://www.italiancarparts.com/parts/ferrariparts.html#exterior
Scroll down to the 308 category, and then the 'Switches, Latches, Levers & related parts' category --
their item is listed as: Door Jam Switch, 308/Mondial: #FR4509 $39.75

And here are a few more part suppliers for 308's, etc....

http://www.hdrogers.com/ferrari.html

http://www.eurospares.co.uk/

http://www.ferrariparts.com/

Hope this helps.

Here's a real stretch / long shot, but you supposedly can obtain them through the www.owners.ferrari.com website (assuming you've successfully signed up, etc.). If you have, then choose the Vintage link, then the Spare Parts link, choose your particular model - OR - perform an Advanced Search for Part # 60054509 and it should yield the following available part description:

# Part No. Description Price
1 60054509 DOOR COURTESY SWITCH 30.30

Just in case you can't find anything closer, or don't have any luck fixing your existing ones.

Jerry -

Are your switches missing / broken or just not working? As Barry says, if they're complete, chances are they'll clean up really easily. Mine were totally dead - really worn and dirty - but it took less than an hour plus a bit of solder to clean them up and they've been fine since.

If not - have you tried ICP?

Jerry:
Check out international Auto @
http://www.international-auto.com
They have some that look just like the switches on a 328.

Jerry,

Try Dennis McCann at:

http://www.allferrariparts.com/

Part #60054509 JAM SWITCH, 308 ROUND $ 20.00

But perhaps yours just need some cleaning up.

Barry
