As I recall the motor is located in the left front wheel well. Take the tire off and remove the access panel/back of the wheel well. You will also find a hard to replace radiator hose here running through your running boards. I discovered the motor by accident while replacing all my hoses. And it just so happens that a couple of weeks ago I had a turn signal failure and along with my slowly responding headlights I decided it was time to clean the contacts in the steering wheel. It takes a special tool to get the round nut off behind the wheel of which I made one. Sam is right, it is tricky taking apart and re-assembling the switches. look at it VERY closely before dimantling for the small ball bearing will fly out like a shot!!! It's easy to loose! An ink eraser on a pen does a great job of cleaning the contacts once apart. The biggest pain was reinstalling the ball bearing under the springs pressure. It took me about 2 hours. Everything works like new now! Good luck! |

Matt, Pray it is not the combination switch on the steering column, you need the dexterity of a surgeon (isn't that what we all are really anyway?) to fix that item and the plastic on that switch is in its lasts years. I had a problem and it was the switch not the motor. There are a lot of electrical things going on with the wiper, that controls speed , delay and wiper/washer operation. Sorry I couldn't help, but if it is the switch. let me know |
