If it is the Delco unit I can supply the super HD rectifier for it for $15.00. |

check your grounds at the battery. check the bolt connection of the hot side of the alternator check the belt to the alternator. Then if still fails pull the alternator and take to a auto electric place for a check. If no good then rebuild. Your old monT may have the delco unit. the current unit is the denso. Instead of paying for the upgrade parts with brackets etc. just rebuild the delco unit to the denso specs.

Yep, no charge. Dead Bat. When that dummy light comes on you have about 15 minutes or so then it dies. Obviously check, alt. hose, fuses, but most likely dead Alt. When my TR did that -- dummy light came on -- I turned around and flew home. Bat died, 2 minutes after parking the car. I would not call it a "dummy" light -- it actually tells you if the alt is working, charging the bat and running the other stuff. |

I was driving home in my Mondial T last night and completely lost electical power then mechanical (engine) power. I had noticed the alternator dummy light "on" on the way to golf in the morning but the car seemed fine. When I went home, I got about half way (4 miles) and the lights dimmed, power dropped and the car had to be parked. Bad alternator leading to dead battery? Any other suggestions? Thanks, JMG |
