The US version TR wiring diagram (509/88) shows two buzzers:

16 - Buzzer for unfastened seat belt

17 - Buzzer for engine oil failure and high exhaust temperature

I don't know their locations for sure, but probably either behind the passenger footwell panel (near connectors C6, C7, C8) or in the central tunnel below/behind the gauges (with the seat belt ECUs).

17 was/is disconnected on my '91. Now that I've got my warning light system working well (new ECUs), I'll probably have a look into reconnectiong it to provide the audio warning of oil pressure loss.

I don't mean to be a total klutz but where are the buzzers? Do they buzz for other abnormal conditions or are they specific to this system? Thanks in advance!

Did you (or the dealer) already try just "refreshing" the connectors at the Warning Light ECUs?

You need a later version of the TR WSM with pages D68 to D106 which covers "KE-Jetronic with Cat. Converter"

The rough patch of road is telling you that there is a frayed wire/poor connection. You can cut the wire to the buzzer and simply watch for the lights(cut it where you could later put in an insulated crimp terminal to rehook it)

Occasionally when my 88TR (US model) sits for a week or so, the cylinder bank warning lights stay on when the engine starts. They typically turn off after 3-5 minutes(still not warm)or if I go over a rough patch of road. This system is not discussed in my workshop manual at all. I know that the buzzers are necessary (aren't they?) but they're really annoying. Anyone have information on this and possible fixes. The local dealer said just replace the two sensors and epoxy blocks they attach to at a cost close to $1,000!
