Kurt: I rather suspect that but since I plan on some minor body work I thought I'd have the drill points for the mirrors fixed and start over. Thanks for the input. Steve |

Stephen, the euro mirrors have a different (smaller) foot print than the US mirrors - and a different hole pattern. Just something to think about |

The Vitalone Concept V mirrors look very close. I found them at EMPI. Again, I thank everyone for their kind input and help. |

EURO 308 QV MIRRORS ARE VITALONI TURBO MIRRORS The mounting bracket for my '82 GTS QV's driver's side mirrof got broken & I had a heck of a time tracking down a replacement part. Luckily Chris at T.Rutlands recognised my description of the mounting base's distinctive shape & dug thru their pile of misc. unobtanium. He identified the mirror as a Vitalloni Turbo (not Baby Turbo). However, the Baby Turbo is very similar. The mirror shape & bellows are almost identical, but the mounting bracket is changed as is the internals of the flex between the base & the mirror. Since you just want the 'look' of the Euro mirror, go to Pep Boys & take a look at the Vitalloni Baby Turbo. A pair is moderately priced. I know that Italian Car Parts was selling the real Vitalloni Turbo mirrors, but the non-power ones were still pricey. (Search the archives for 'mirror'. I believe I posted some pointers to web sites that were selling Vitalloni Turbos. I also think I posted the part number from the mirror.) As to the badges, they're available from several sources. (Again see the archives). I remember that "BlackBartsEmporium.com had two sizes. As to the |

My car is a euro imported from a German dealership (have all of the paperwork from that transaction). I'm not sure where you can reproductions. |

Perfect, those are the ones. Now where do I buy a pair? Thanks Greg, you are spot on. |

I have the Euro mirrors (mine is a '84 Euro 308) with the small badges on them. I'll post a pic when I get home. |

A Google search shows many sources in the US. E.g., http://www.empius.com/e/extmirrors.html has what looks like the Super Turbo America under a different name. |

Gerrit, I have a Euro with the proper Euro mirrors on it. The black plastic is so faded that I think the only way to get them black again would be to paint them. A better choice (albeit uneconomical) would be to purchase the mirrors again. However, perhaps the one you just referenced is available....I can't figure out how to buy from that site (didn't try real hard). The idea is to get the mirrors from a non-Ferrari source, then get the enamel badges (I wonder if the Eau do Toilette ones are the right size?) and mount them on (I've heard of burning a pinhole in the mirror in the right position and then glueing the enamel badges in). Anyone know how to get the mirrors on that barrac.it site? -Matt |

Hi Found a closer match to your description: http://www.barrac.it/specchi.jsp?mirror=3001&lang=en This happens to be a Magneti Marelli partenr who have jointly re-launched the Vitaloni brand. |

Is it the Baby Turbo model? http://essexparts.com/CatalogPDF/Essex_65~Mirrors.pdf shows both the California and Baby Turbo. I replaced a Baby Turbo with a pair of California's on my GT4. Pretty useless as mirrors but the correct look. For changing lanes, this is the only time I ignore the 'whatsa behinda you is notta important' rule. To move lanes, I generally accelerate quickly, look in my rear view mirror (biased to RH side) and then move right (if all is clear). Actually the Baby Turbo wasn't great as a mirror either, but it did have a bit more surface area. The little Ferrari shields, well the nicest way to get those is to buy (or get someone to gift you some :-)) Ferrari Red or Black Eau de Toilette. Smells great and each bottle has a fancy shield on it that is prime candidate for re-use. |

I was wondering about the smaller mirrors because mine has the large rectangle ones. What was the rule of thumb for using these mirrors? Where they a newer model or euro application? |

I saw a 308QV (European)in Montreal at Auto Bugatti that had oval mirrors with the Ferrari pancing horse in chrome, (quite small) on the front. The mirrors were not electric and had rubber boots at the mounting points. I really liked them and would like a pair on my 308 GTSi. Anyone know that make they might be and where one might purchase a pair? as always, thanks in advance. |
