DaveM - No, my intended technique is not drug based. I don't trust drugs, at all. Dave - In your case, you might not need the technique at all. May I ask though, how consistent and how long can you self-induce lucidity? William - The Monroe Institute is a respectable establishment, being the creators of Hemi-Synch, but the time it takes to learn deep meditation is extreme compared to the relatively short time from my intended technique (1-2 days). Timn88 - Your subconscious knows and imagines things you never thought you did. The creative ability of the mind really explodes when you achieve lucidity. Also, the neurotechnology equipment and applications I plan to use don't control the dream in any way. The goal of the technique is to induce lucidity and then leave the user alone to their free-will. If you're always waking up when you become lucid, try focusing deeply on one of the visuals in the dream. |

i also dont think this is possible. im pretty sure you cant control a dream with an outside machine. also, if you know its a dream you will wake up, at least thats what happens to me. |

My question is how would your brain know what things are like if you havent done them yet. for example, lets say i wanted to be michael schumacher. I have never driven a F1 car, so how would i be able to do it in my dreams? my dreams piss me off sometimes. also has anyone ever tried to fight or run in thier dreams? |

I'd pay. You could really have some fun with a controlled dream... it's like a video game in your head... |

Nope... I wouldn't pay a dime. I think you need to do a little more research, because there are some of us that can already control our dream states and extend lucid REM time, as well as subject matter of our dreams... Besides, they already have a fantasy world like this that people pay big money for... It's called Disneyland. |

I keep hearing "tech support" in my head thinking of this. Technique as in drug's?. Are perhaps gadgets like in Total Recall. I dont believe this would be widely embraced for some time... |

I don't think I'd pay for dreams, I like the struggles and challenges in real life, I'd give you the Ferrari for a clone of Heidi Klum though... |

If there was a technique that could induce and maintain lucidity in dreams, but it required expensive equipment and time to condition, would you go to a lab/center and pay for it? The technique would allow you to stay in lucidity for prolonged periods of time (45-60 minutes), whereas naturally induced lucid REM only lasts about 2 minutes. I ask because I plan to start my own research lab after (hopefully during) college, but I can't really say what the demand for it would be. If it works, I certainly know it would be worth the money, and I'll likely keep it to myself and sacrifice profits for a while to further its capabilities before releasing to the public. Better yet, how much would you pay? |
