I love playing with penny stocks! I never do it with money I can't afford to lose though (if there is such a thing!). To me, it's akin to going to the black-jack table, and since I don't have the time or desire to hang out in casinos, I "play" the penny stocks. I think it takes a bit more smarts and it's fun doing the research on different companies, but I never lose sight of the fact that I'm just playing/gambling, and I leave my real investment money in things I have a lot more control over. I buy pennys for the "rush" that comes with the potential - same reason people buy lottery tickets. Example; When my latest "hot" penny hits a buck and a half, (currently at 14 cents/own 65k shares) I'm stepping up to that 355! See, to me, that's fun!! If you like, I'd be happy to share (for free!) some of the penny stocks I think are a good "bet", but remember... my opinions are worth only as much as you pay for them!!

Mike, If you need to be super speculative, the futures markets are the way to go. Fast moving, liquidity on most instruments and you can short on a downtick. |

My opinion: Most penny stocks have thin trading volume. Therefore, they can be easily manipulated by rumours, etc. (a la that 12 year old kid who made $ buying, placing rumors on chatboards, then selling) My philosophy is to not invest into things you don't know anything about. By that, I mean, know the industry, company, competition, product, prospects, etc...of the company you are investing in. I don't invest in 'hot tips'. In other words, if a company that you are already familiar with is being traded as a penny stock, that's different than investing in a penny stock of a company that you know nothing about because it's a hot tip. Anyways, this is just my opinion and it is only worth what you paid for it. |

Just curious to know if anyone out there invest in penny stocks? Think it is a worthwhile investment or too much risk? |
