David, although i've never driven one, i'm confident in my ability to parallel park a Countach- as long as it has side mirrors...! :-)

Jordan, I would say get the (real) 308 first. Those Lambo kits may be good but IMO, not worth it. After a few years and some saving, sell the 308 and go get the Lambo. Or, at the very least, find someone who owns one and ask for a ride or two. You may not want to actually own the thing when you find out how difficult it is to drive. Ever see someone parallel park a Countach on the street? It's NEVER been done!!! LOL Visibility is ZERO in the back. The driver has to open his door, slide his butt onto the sill and then carefully back up while looking behind himself. I guess that's part of the charm of owning a Countach! Diablos are a little better with visibility but not much.

Do you guys know anything about Prova Countach Kit Cars? Ive seen some on ebay and they look pretty good and have a nice powerful V8. They were priced at like 29k...so Id rather get a 308 or just save up and get a real countach. However, they did look pretty cool :-)

David, there's a Countach 25th anniversary replica every month in the DuPont Registry, red/tan, for about what you said a car kit goes for. It looks pretty nice, actually, but again, the Countach is not my first choice for a Bull...

Speaking of kits, there have been a bunch for sale over the years on the internet. Most are easy to tell from real. One or two kits looked pretty close to the real thing. But in my opinion, why spend $35K for a fake when you can save a bit more and by a real one? Trust me, if it were in my budget (FAR from it), I'd go get myself a Countach LP5000S QV right now. I liked the traditional red/tan but also, believe it or not, white/white. Forza Motorsports in CT just listed an 89 Countach on their website. It looks awesome, except for that UGLY front bumper. That was the WORST thing Lamborghini could do to the car to meet US regs!!

David, i concur; a Lamborghini is a sure crowd-pleaser no matter where you are... i remember going to a car show many years ago and seeing a Countach- as you said, they're tiny, but somehow they look bigger in photographs...
When i was a little kid, my father pointed one out to me, as we drove by burger king... a few guys were working on it, right there in the street... as we passed, we watched as they lifted the whole frame right off the car- it turned out to be a kit...! i don't know if the one i saw was real or not, it's impossible for me to tell these things, but the odds of the whole situation were a zillion to one...

I've seen a couple on Long Island, but very rarely! One time I trailed one in my car. Turned out the car was a kit car. A well crafted one but still a kit.

The most interesting thing about a Countach sighting is how SMALL the car actually is. I saw one (the real thing) in Florida a few years ago and the car is tiny next to the other cars in the lot. It looks a lot bigger in photographs than it does in person. Must not be a good car to go cruising in for long distances. But if you want attention, the Countach is THE car to have!! Just swing those doors up and watch the crowds gather...

Jordan- it was beyond my comprehension- it just sorta happened right there, in front of my eyes... i mean, the car must've been 30 yards away, but it still stood out from everything else...

That's the second time i've seen a Lamborghini outside of a dealership or car show... The Countach is not my favorite Lamborghini- in fact, i have some complaints about its looks, but it's still a beautiful car...

I have yet to see a Countach in person *apart from a few in a show room*

Although it doesn't quite match my love for Ferraris, it comes close :-) I've never even heard of an orange countach. I'll see if I can find a picture online, it must look gorgeous!

LMAO, almost...! i was slowing down to make a turn, there was a red light up ahead and he was already turning- the way that intersection is set up, i would've never caught up to him (well... i don't wanna say NEVER, but...)

i just find it very strange... it was orange, first of all... secondly, it was a Countach- they stopped making those long ago and it's in December...! All that, alone makes it strange, but what's the clincher- i bought one just like it, last night...!

After work, last night, i went to Toys R Us, to pick up some last minute gifts... Whenever i'm in a toy store, i stop by the car section (1:18 & hot wheels/matchbox)... This last week, i've picked up almost ten matchbox cars (mostly Ferraris), but yesterday, i saw an orange Lamborghini Countach and figured that would look nice on my mantle next to other 1:59s...

Today, on my lunch break, i'm on my way to blockbuster and what do i see...? An orange Countach...! What are the odds of seeing a Countach, nowadays, period- but an orange one, just like the one i bought last night (minus the racing # on the door)...? This was very weird.
