I think bug's are girl car's, but jetta's are 90% girl 10% boy
Let's talk girl cars, Prelude, VW bug, Miata, ect.
Boy car's, Corvette, ferrari, 911 turbo, large 4x4's ect.

Do you guys think the Jetta in general is a girls car? That is my last concern. This one is very sporty, but do you think its for a girl?

have you ever heard of the GTI 337? it was made in 2002 i think. It's a racy little car, it has recaros, stiff aftermarket suspension, nice alloy wheels- all from the factory. They can be found used in the mid to high teens. if you are considering a GTI, check that out. there are alot listed on autotrader. they will also have bettee resale if you decide to sell because they are a limited edition.
EDIT- found this link http://www.vw.com/GTI337/

I still have the '92 Corrado VR6 I bought new. It has been a really fun car to drive, but the electrics are BAD (as mentioned below) and at 70,000 miles my head gasket blew, valve guides were way loose, timing chain tensioner was worn to the rivets (!). Black trim parts went bad. Only has 72,000 miles on it right now, don't know what I would replace it with if I had to get a new car today - a Mini?

Brian, I have a 95 GTI VR6 as my daily driver. It is hands down the most reliable car out of 20 cars I have owned. I love it, it has 160,000 of my hard miles. It has been autocrossed dozens of times, and it has 4 track events on it as well...AND I drive it everyday in Atlanta traffic. I also have a 1983 Rabbit GTI. I LOVE VWs. The new VWs are built like Mercedes. Go for the Jetta man, it is a fantastic car!

Don't forget about the A4 either Brian... the Jetta is probably cheaper in the long run though...

Long ago, (1986) I had a VW GTI. It was such a fun car to drive!

I autocrossed it a few times and it did pretty well. Although it doesn't carry the prestige of a BMW, it is as much fun, if not more fun to drive. It's also a lot more economical. (read: more $ to go towards a future f-car)

It's a practical car too. It has a trunk and is comfortable enough for long trips.

Get it.

VW Jetta's have had some electrical problem's
but they might have fixed those buy now.
Cool looking cars tho. Buy what you like, Please.
Too many people influenced by other's. Not to say you are. I have noticed that all the beautyful people drive Jetta's, Well at least the women that drive them.

You guys may laugh, but you all may know that I am looking to get a first car. I took a look at the new sporty Jetta GLI today, and I love it. It is certainly something you should take a look at. It comes with a 6-speed manual tranny, 200 hp, and a 2.8 liter VR6 engine. The interior has sport bucket seats, big sport 17 inch wheels and a nice suspension. I can get a brand new one0 miles, with leather and a sunroof for like 23k, what do you guys think? The 0-60 time is not that great, but there is just so much tourque, and you cant beat the 6-speed. Taking turns and nailing the throttle, its just plain fun to drive. I also think its a nice low profile car for a teen? I am curious to know your 2-cents. It has the smoothest gearbox I have ever experienced.
