I can do that easily, it's on my list along with 50 other things, I just have limited time and the move is priority number one right now, then sponsor maintenance, then get the app server working, and then update the links page, and then... There's a quick fix to the image problem I'll load this week. It just creates multiple image buttons that put a line between them automatically. |

so in other words, its a flat file bb. okay so how about this request - when adding a picture, make the backend automatically <br> after the image link so users dont' need to scroll across the screen six pages wide and then read each post on that thread the same way. just a thought. |

Ok, here's the expert answer why... The answer to this is the whole static versus dynamic page issue - Discus performs very well in reading pages because the pages are stored statically, but this reduces the possibilities for a user to customize the interface for themselves, such as allowing them options to sort messages. Future versions with options to generate pages dynamically from a database, if developed, would allow this sort of choice, at a sacrifice of performance (generating a page dynamically always is more intensive than simply spitting back a static page). Bascially performance vs. customization, might be an option in the future though. |

It's not necessary to consider changes if everyone likes it this way. I just thought I may have been overlooking something easy that I could have done to change my personal settings. Thanks for all of the responses. |

FC History - We've used the same message board software since the begining (11/27/2000). ExpensiveCar.com used a Microsoft Frontpage type message board. Now I have customized the look and feel once or twice with this board, but same basic functionality. |

Its been this way since the beginning, even the old forum was this way. That was a while ago, im starting to forget what the old forum looked like. There were no sections if i remeber correctly, it was just a list of threads. |

I'll request this option to be put in again, but so far it has to be one way or another for everyone. All the other boards are doing it wrong! |

not familiar with this forum software, but quite familiar with other forum software and its not that difficult to do. it would be a few lines of code and an added option in each user profile, or else, just a few lines of code or even a cookie stored for a user preference (to do it easily) and an up arrow and down arrow to post directions of the messages. |

this is the way the board has been set up and we debate it every once and a while. it takes getting used too but works. I think we did discuss being able to set preferences to change it for each user but I don't think it was feasable - I am no tech nut |

Is it possible to reverse the order of the conversation when following the links from the main chat page? Right now I see the most recent post 1st and the original post last and I prefer to browse in the opposite direction? TIA, Bart
