Give him a call, instead of waiting for the banner to come around you can go to the "Sponsors" page.

Hey Chris, can you quote me for a 36 inch screen?

Hi John,

Tx. for your suggestion. I reckon a decrease of viewable size at 4:3 but it should be ok to me as my sitting position is actually not really to far away. A 50 or 60" is definitely a better choice but, as I said, it seems to be unreasonably a lot more expensive.

It's up to you, but if most of what you watch is in 4:3 format, you may find with a 42" 16:9 screen, your viewable picture may actually decrease, or appear to do so depending how far your seating is from the screen. So, you may want to take advantage of the larger screen size. Now if you primarially use that screen for DVD's (or 16:9 sources) than that's not so much of an issue.

John -- Panasonic TH42PWD5UY seems to be a good buy. I reckon a 50 or a 60" is a much better choice if cost is nothing. However, they seem to be a lot more expensive than the 42"

Cheers

The Panasonic EDTV models are a very good choice. Ming- if your current 48" rear projection is 4:3 aspect ratio, you may want to look at a 50"-ish 16:9 format. Why not go for the gusto and get the 60" LG or Elite? Plasma price=performance + satisfaction

Hey guys,

Chris here from PlasmaTVs.com

As far as shipping... Everything is fully insured. It is very very rare that we ever have a damaged unit. And if we do it is replaced asap!

The gateway unit.... Stay away!!! It is a rebadged Sampo which suffers in picture quality. If you are looking for the best picture / price go with the panasonic EDTV models which is the TH42PWD5UY or PT42PD3P. They are worth the few $ extra over other models!

If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call.

For a little comfort take a look at our list of corporate customers http://www.plasmatvs.com/corporate.html

We have done business with many major companies including Pfizer, Jaguar, Ford, FBI, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, and many others.

Look forward to helping you guys out!

Give me a call 1-800-923-8007

Also if you are in the NY Tri-State area we do customer installation including Plasma TVs, Home Theater Systems, Theater Rooms, Multi-room audio and automation.

Well, they are a sponsor and I've never heard anything bad about them. I'm sure they would appreciate your business and I believe their prices are very good. Chris Brody is a fairly active user on the board.

Kenny,

I was looking at them in August but I was worried about it being shipped so I just bought a 42" Panasonic locally. I bought the 65" locally as well. In all fairness, I never asked them about shipping or insurance.

Hi Everyone,

Talking about Plasma TV, does anyone have any good recommendation for a 42" one? I have to get one in two weeks as my existing 8 years old Toshiba 48" rear projection TV was sold.

We're looking at getting a new TV for the den, and figured that we'd support F-chat. Anyone deal with them? Good, bad?
