Jere, i'm on the phone, a lot, so i usually post while i'm talking- i'm talking to insurance companies, so it doesn't require too much intelligence... i get my job done, though... This is the only place i post... i like cars... i really like Ferraris... This place is great, that's why i'm here so much... i hope you don't mind. |

Des, I have a question for you. Has your production at work slowed significantly since your joining Ferrarichat and now Lambochat? How many other lists you you post to? Man, over 1400 posts to this list since August 3, 2002. When do you have time to get anything else done? I think I would watch my back very closely to see just how much the boss sees. |

Des, If you would spend just a little less time posting and more time researching quotes you might be able to see where Tillman gets his answers. I would be willing to bet the lunch you owe him that he does not have all this knowledge locked away in his cranium. Bible novel????? I definitely do not want to stand next to you when the clouds come in. |

Tillman, i read it, i'm just wondering if the name you said is the name of the kid in the movie... & how do you know his whole name and i didn't even know he had a last name in the movie, that's why i asked... Oh, also- how the @#$% do you know all this stuff...? |

Not sure, but I think Guinness is still measured in pints. So therefore Guinness consumption would be irrelevant to a metric piss. Hans. (Who's on his way to a brewpub RIGHT NOW!) |

DES: There is no answer to the riddle - just depends on how much Guiness you drank, I guess. "Flux capacitor" is a reference to the dorky "Back to the Future" and its dorky sequels. I was not aware that the DaVinci drawing had a name: "Vitruvian Man"? I have a puzzle coaster of him, one of those things where you shift around the tiles. Very educational. |

Jeff, our sources differ slightly, but your breakdown of the units of the human body is akin to The Vitruvian Man, which is believe was done by Davinci... The riddle perplexes me as i'm not familiar with metric units of measure, ergo, there might be something missing in the 'broken translation' for i'm not sure if the actual metric measure is part of the answer or clue to the answer... i'm gonna have to give in on this... |

DES: I feel like that boring Postman on "Cheers" to mention this, but... I looked this up in one of my trivia books. The cubit was devised about 3000BC, and was "the length of a grown man's arm from the elbow to the tip of the outstretched middle finger (oooh!) - about 20.5" in modern units". A DIGIT was the breadth of a finger. 28 digits equaled 1 cubit. One PALM equaled 4 digits. A palm plus a digit totaled 5 digits, or a HAND. 4 palms, or 16 digits, equaled a T'SER. Which reminds me of a riddle: how many liters are there in a metric piss? |

"And if you take the cosine of the arc can you get a loan for...oh, forget it." ROFLMAO...! Jeff, i stand corrected... Thank you, i never knew that before... A cubit is basically the distance between your elbow, where your arm bends and the tip of your middle finger, which is generally assumed to be approximately 18 inches... No, Hans, if Noah traveled at 88 cubits per hour, he wouldn't travel through time- not because it's not fast enough, but because Noah wasn't real; he was just another character in the bible novel... (oh, man, i'm really asking for it with that one...!) Also, Hans, i believe travel at the speed of light in cubits can be obtained by going 54,580,742.4968 cubits per second... (Now, i'm no mathematician, but i think that's the number you're looking for... ) Lastly, i'm clueless as to what a flux capacitor is, so i need to find out, 'cause i'm sure i'm missing a few jokes, here... |

Or more germane to the topic, what is the speed of light in cubits/second? And if Noah's ark reaches 88 cubits/hour, will it travel thru time? Did he have to include both a male and female flux capacitor? |

DES: A "statute" mile refers to a specific standard of measurement, at exactly 5,280 feet. If you say it's a mile to the next bend, that doesn't mean it's exactly 5,280 feet. A "statute mile" IS exactly 5,280 feet. The speed of light is generally accepted to be 186,000 miles per second, but if you look it up, it is actually 186,282.3976 statute miles per second, or 299,792.4580 plus or minus 0.0012 kilometers per second. So it's rounded off at 186K. If you round off a Ferrari 308 to 300, does that mean 3.0 liters with 0 cylinders? That's a joke, not an invitation to a pissing contest. What's a cubit?

No, no test, just don't want someone else to happen on the post, see the information i posted and take it as accurate... Misinformation is the tasty snack on which this society feeds... Jeff, i'm not sure what you mean by 'statute miles per second', but i'm pretty positive that the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second... Sure enough, this isn't a pissing contest, if i'm wrong, by all means, correct me, i'm just very comfortable in the information i have and i don't know what a 'statute' mile per second is... Some clarification would be helpful... Thanks... |

i'd like to correct myself; the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second, not 183k, sorry... Jim, seriously, if you're in a car, traveling at the speed of light and you turn the head lights on, you will see what will appear to be a solid beam of light extending from the headlights... I wanted you to know that I'm not one of them. I can be discouraged. |
