This has nothing to do with browser refresh problems. If it had to do with browser refresh problems, why would a user post the same thing three minutes apart and the other two minutes apart and I only notice one of them and respond to only one of them? That... I'm unsure of. I suggest seeing if Tino or Nick Yim had to post their inquiries twice. That would clarify what is occuring. You should find it odd that there are two identical posts (that I've brought up, maybe more out there) by users. Usually when a user posts something and then posts again - there's usually something different w/wordings. etc. Just so you know, Once I posted my response, the thread was there with my response, and also in the listing. The next day - *poof* - nothing, no evidence of either thread. Then the following day, it comes right back up. Its strange and I know I'm not imagining things. Just trying to resolve an issue that might be creeping up with other users and not noted anywhere. I'm not a tech-newbie, I actually work on two other car forums and have been doing web dev since Mosaic 1.0 back with splurp accounts. |

Rob: I posted to this thread a few days ago, and the post was DEFINITELY there after I posted. Even went back to see if anyone responded to what I wrote. http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/187404.html?1042133306 Now go and check. You'll see that there are no posts from me. Browser refresh? I seriously doubt it. |

It could be Proxy setting from the ISP as well. |

Would that just be a browser refreash issue? I've even refreashed my browser and it didn't update even though I knew a message was added. Usually if I close the browser and come back in it's there. The browser should load a page if anything in the HTML has changed. As you know Randy you can change your settings where it loads the page no matter what. If that works that would prove my guess. |

Odd, definately odd. I think I found something here though. One correction - there was one post in OT. If you contact Tino, maybe he has some insight. He originally posted this a few days ago: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/132929/189990.html?1042062691 and I responded. Then he posted this yesterday: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/132929/189992.html?1042058342 Oddly enough, the first post wasn't available yesterday. Next example, another mysterious post just reappeared which I posted to a few days ago. Original post w/my response: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/189912.html?1042008195 And the repost: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/189917.html?1042070707 Perhaps there was a date mistake with the server and the software? Really unsure. Weird, eh? |

Hmm, I'll need more info and examples. I've posted 3,000 messages and have never caught one of mine disappearing. For awhile when our user Db was in a flatfile we had user's disappear now and then. However, since putting the users into a database we haven't had this issue. The board tries to be more efficient by having thread pages actually be static html. When you submit a new message the program updates that html page. Let's get some more concrete information and I'll track it down. Thanks. I believe it's happening, but without reproducing it I can't do much. |

Its the same issue as Hans. I thought it was just one night, but a few nights in a row - and that's just strange. These were referring to a few posts in the Technical Q&A regarding brakes/pads/upgrades, nothing in OT a and nothing in the main forum - if that helps. Its nothing in the shames at all. |

I noticed this this past Sunday. Rob had left a message at the top of the page, that he was doing server-stuff at 12:30am CST. Since everything was working then, I made a post. I came back on Monday and my post wasn't there. (Don't worry about trying to find it Rob, it was nothing significant...) |

I've seen this also. Post, it's there, next day it's gone. Not the whole thread, just an individual post. I hope this one stays put!! |

I haven't noticed anything beyond that I have moved maybe 3 threads in the past month to "Shames Archives" and sometimes you have to refreash to see. I only have to refreash at work for some reason to see new stuff. Either my browser setting or something with the firewall. Please let me know if any problems beyond this. Thanks, rob |

It could also be that your brower is not refreshing. If that happens again, hit the F5 key. That will refresh the brower. |

I think Randy is referring to the fact that sometime when you post, on a good thread, it does not show up on the post count or not at all. I have seen this a couple of times. I just repost it and it's fine. |
