Jordan, i've been in a similar situation several times (although, i can't play an instrument) and my best advice to you is just close your eyes and play like you're by yourself... Forget that people are there, forget about everything except your love and passion for your music... You're obviously very talented to even be picked to be there, so i wouldn't really worry at all... But just remember; these people WANT to see you play, that's why you were picked... It's THEIR privilege to hear you play, so don't be nervous... Let us know how it goes... and get a good night's sleep, too... it helps to wake up refreshed... you'll do awesome, i'm sure of it... i'd wish you good luck, but i know in my heart you don't need it, so i'll just say have a great time and blow the competition out of the water and let us know how it went, when you get back... | ||

I got a scary audition tomorrow for a big orchestra. The solo they picked as a requirement is a wonderful Vivaldi cello sonata. Its one of my favorite songs in the world, but...its IMPOSSIBLE on the bass. Physically impossible. Ive had to rewrite it just to make it playable so I dont know how the other bassists are going to do... Oh well...Im just nervous...No real point to post this but just to rant  |
