Seriously Des, older V-12 2+2 Ferraris had electric overdrives. For those cross-continent high-speed trips. (I always wondered how those overdrives work. I suppose its just a planetary gearset on the output shaft, engaged/disengaged through an electromagnetic clutch... Correct?) |

DES: I hear Al Pacino will be doing a remake called "The Sentra of a Woman", where he throws the shifter into ultra-overdrive and SCORES!! |

Funny you should mention that, Matt, the flux capacitor is located behind the rear main seal, right under the fuel injected-carburator, which happens to be connected to some valve stem cover thingie... um, right...? |

Ahh the many secrets of the Sentra. Reminds me of the old days. Have you found the flux capacitor yet? |

Tim, i didn't know that, that's good to keep in mind... except for the drive way, there aren't too many other places that i keep it under 40, though... |

Around town where you dont really go over 40 its good to leave it off. IT keeps the tranny from going into OD and back to 3rd alot. |

For the first time, last night, i found out that if i disengage the overdrive in my car, my car will go faster... This isn't good for the car, though, especially an old car... i tried it this afternoon and it works, but i can feel some resistance from the car when i take my foot off the gas... i won't be doing this in the future as my car takes enough abuse, but i was wondering if Ferraris have an overdrive button and well... can we expound on that at all... (Since this in off topic, we might as well include other high performance cars...) Thanks for all your input... |
