Lucas:

I was easily able to find four Venturi articles in my collection, and reference to a couple more. "Car & Driver" of May 1989 says there was a Miami-based importer, North American MVS, hoping to sell 300 Venturis in the US in their first year! I don't know if any actually made it.

It does indeed look a lot like a Ferrari from some angles. Access to the engine appears to be seriously BAD. Engine/turbo noise was apparently a common complaint.

Hi again, Luke. From what I remember, the car was French built as a cheaper/French alternative to a Ferrari. And, well, the reputation of French cars is not so good. They were fairly expensive and got better as time went on, many were raced in Europe. They were not legal for import in the US. Now, I belive the company went under a few years ago, but last I heard, they have resurfaced and unveiled a new car last year which was very interesting looking to say the least. I can dig up some French car mags when I get back home on Friday if you want some recent prices, etc.

What is the deal with these cars? Are they any good? Why do they look SO much like Ferraris? Were any ever bought to the US? Are there any good web sites about them (the OEM site is very esoteric!)?

Luke.
